1. Some of them are tourists and some are here for business.
But many are Hong Kong residents. They live and work here.
2. 1. From Indonesia. Because many Indonesians work in Hong Kong.
In 2012, 7.15 million residents in Hong Kong were Chinese. The others, comprising 8%, were non-Chinese.

2. They are non-Chinese people and are called 'ethnic minority groups'.
 3. They study in Hong Kong, run business in Hong Kong, work in Hong Kong and enjoy their weekends in Hong Kong.

What are the differences between these two families? Bitto and his family eat with the hands, while John and his family eat with chopsticks. What are the similarities between these two families? John and Bitto share the same hobbies. Both like watching television and playing basketball.

1. What kind of problems do ethnic minorities face?
1. Do not know how to use chopsticks.
2. Do not know how to tell the driver that they want to get off the van.
 3. Find it hard to make local friends.
4. Find it hard to learn Chinese.

 2. What should we do to get along with people from different cultures?
We should not discriminate against them. We should understand and respect their cultural differences and offer to help them solve problems.

 1. These ethnic minorities are facing certain problems. Why?
Because of different cultures, lifestyles and languages, ethnic minorities may have certain problems living in Hong Kong and may find it difficult to communicate with others.

 1. Have communication problems when using public services.
 2. Do not understand menus.
 3. Cannot meet job requirements.

P.22 What services are there to help ethnic minorities?
1. Language classes: Encourage them to learn English and Cantonese.
 2. Career support: Provide career counselling services to ethnic minorities.
 3. Multicultural activities: Enhance mutual understanding between Chinese and ethnic minorities.
4. Service information: Let them know where they can get social services.

  1. Dear Mz. koci, here is Eunice’s dad. I forgot to leave a note last night regarding GS workbook so I make uze of the blog’s comment section. Since we could not find her GS workbook at home and she should have homework due tomorrow, I wonder if you could photocopy chapter 3 to her so that she could complete her homework at least, please?
